The 2013 Relay for Life event was a smashing success. We have reached the “Platinum Level” in fundraising and it looks like the Morrow Team will come in with a final total of approximately $7,929. We are in fourth place out of 40 teams. If you have any additional funds to turn in for 2013 there is still plenty of time. The grand total of all teams raised to date overall for the Henderson County Relay for life is over $99,817 and counting.
We had an amazing turnout at the event on May 17th of team members, friends & family members, and Morrow employees and can proudly say that we always had at least one person on the track all night! We can’t even begin to express our thanks to everyone for all your efforts raising funds, walking, donating, recruiting team members, getting items donated, baking, planting, serving, setting up, cleaning up, donating canned goods, etc.
Surprisingly (and downright shocking) we did not win the $1,500 challenge for Most Feet on the Track – Congratulations to the Hendersonville Middle School team who won that challenge! We cannot believe we didn’t win that one. We’ll get ‘em next year.
Thanks to all of our sponsors, Morrow Insurance, Choo Choo BBQ. Fresh Market, and Texas Roadhouse for helping out with donated goods and to all of you who participated in any way—- but special thanks go out to all of our 2013 team mates who are survivors; Sharon Robbins, Christina Dinardo, Lacy Dylweski, Karla Turner, Patricia Brown and George Persons. This is all about YOU!
With the American Cancer Society our team is doing our part to create a world where cancer is history and to make sure that cancer never steals another year of anyone’s life!
